The Art Department collaborates regularly with artists to produce artworks in newly-constructed buildings for the county’s healthcare services. Our projects are publicly financed.
The Art Department’s participation in the county’s construction projects opens for artists to engage in dialogue with healthcare personnel, architects, interior designers and construction managers. Each project is unique and our audience is diverse. We value artists’ response to a project’s specific context. The Art Department works actively to locate and secure opportunities for art commissions and strives to involve artists at an early stage of the construction planning processes.
We believe art can provide valuable human and existential reflections at different stages of a person’s life. We are also convinced that art plays an important role for patients, staff and visitors in the healthcare environment.
